Blue Rock loves dinosaurs and about an hour from us is all kinds of neat
dinosaur activities. There's Dinosaur Valley, Dinosaur World, a Creation
Evidence Museum, and Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. We've been wanting to take Blue Rock to see some dinosaurs and surprised him Saturday by taking him to Dinosaur World.
Blue Rock was super excited to see all of the
dinosaurs. He kept asking if they were real or pretend. I think he thought we were at a Dinosaur Zoo. They have over 100
life-size dinosaur replicas and information about each kind and where their
bones were found. It was an amazing exhibit. There was a dinosaur dig for the
kids where they could dig for bones. It honestly was too hot (100 degrees) to
dig for any bones or play on the playground. So we went through the dinosaur
park walk and grabbed some cold water and went into the air conditioned museum
where we could read more about dinosaurs. Thankfully they gave us free tickets
to come back in December to dig for dinosaur bones and see all the dinosaurs
again. I didn't need to be in the heat very long so we only spent about an hour
there. I look forward to going again and watching Blue Rock dig for bones. This
Fall we're going to be studying dinosaurs more as part of his pre-K
program. Blue Rock and I are really looking forward to it. It's always fun taking kids somewhere fun that's also educational.
